“I HAVE A DREAM” Youth & Climate Change - Making Mother Earth Cleaner & Greener.
All submissions should be based on the theme of DBGYFF 2024.

Genre

DBGYFF welcomes films belonging to most genres, but does not accept films that portray cruelty to humans, nudity and gory content.

Category

DBGYFF 2024 welcomes all film entries in any one of the five categories :

  • 2-Minute Short Films
  • 5-Minute Short Films
  • 5-Minute Animation Films
  • 5-Minute Music Videos
  • 10-Minute Documentary

Duration

The duration of the work should not exceed the specified runtime of the respective category.

TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS

Before you start submitting, please take a moment to review these specs to help submit your film entry.

Frame Rates

  • Film should be encoded and uploaded using the same frame rate that was used during recording.
  • Common frame rates include: 24, 25, 30, 48, 50, and 60 frames per second.

Film Settings

  • Aspect Ratio: 16:9
  • Video Codec: H.264
  • Video Format: .mp4
  • Dimension: Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels
  • Video Bitrate: Max. 8000 Kbps
  • Video upload File Size : Max 1 GB

Subtitles

  • ALL FILMS MUST have ENGLISH SUBTITLES, even English language ones..
  • Subtitles should be integrated into the video. Extension files are NOT ACCEPTED.

SUBMISSION FILM ASSETS

Submission Film MUST be uploaded with all the THREE MAJOR ASSETS, failing which your submission will not be considered valid for DBGYFF 2024.

Synopsis

  • A brief synopsis of your film in English
  • The synopsis draft is for the jury.

Film Thumbnail

  • Required: 1 Image
  • Dimension: 1920x1080 pixels, saved for web and optimized
  • Format: JPEG
  • File Size: Max.100 KB

Contestant Photo

  • Contestant Photo: 1 Image (vertical)
  • Dimension: 900x1200 pixels, saved for web and optimized
  • Format: JPEG
  • File Size: Max. 100 KB

Contestant Age Limit

Any Young person between the age of 14 to 25 from any part of the world can participate in the festival.
Categories
The participants will be classified into two categories.
Category 1: General Youth – from the age of 14 to 25 from any part of the world.
Category 2: Salesian Youth - from the age of 14 to 25 from the Don Bosco Institutions.

Film Production date

Submitted Films must not have been created before January 1, 2023 and have been screened or exhibited online.

Submitting multiple films

Only one film can be submitted to the festival. Multiple entries by the same person are not permitted.

Submission Period

Submissions open in the dbgyff.com portal on April 24 2024. The last date for submitting your films for DBGYFF 2024 is July 31, 2024.
